Timothy Jay Hayford
Hyde Park-Timothy Jay Hayford, 52, died suddenly at his Hyde Park home on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. He was the second son of Alan Jacques Hayford and Jacqueline (Kinney) Larsen.
Tim grew up in Morrisville and graduated from Peoples Academy after two years in automotive arts at Lamoille Union. As a young boy, he was fascinated with all sorts of puzzles and anything mechanical. He took the family toaster apart at age five and put it all back in working order. He took piano lessons and joined the elementary school band with his trumpet. Later his love of music directed him to be self- taught on the electric guitar. For spending money, Tim had a paper route plus collected and sold found golf balls.
After high school hours, Tim worked at Arthur’s Department Store, moved on to Maynard’s Auto Parts Store, then Adams’ Mill in Stowe and finally the past fourteen years as a devoted and respected manager of Fisher Auto Parts in Johnson. Tim was named Fisher Auto Parts “Man of the Year” for several years in a row for bottom line store success.
Most spare time was spent in the outdoors with nature as he loved to camp at Beaver Meadow, going hiking, metal detecting, gold panning, brook or lake fishing, snowmobiling or hunting during bird and deer season. He was very proud of his Barber dimes plus other coins in his collection over the last ten years of his life. It took Tim 20 years to find his one-ounce vial of gold flakes.
Tim leaves his mother, Jacqueline; brother, Troy Alan and wife, Patti (Baker) Hayford of Hyde Park; niece, Mariah Hayford of Morrisville; nephews, Zachary and Aaron Hayford of Hyde Park; uncles and aunts, Norman, Larry and Alfreda (Lowe) Kinney of Morrisville; and Michael and Pam (Barrons) Kinney of Kentucky and several cousins and close friends including Michael Churchill and Allison Perkett, plus his beloved feline companion, Charlie. He was predeceased by his father, Alan Jacques Hayford; uncle and aunt, Clarence and Audrey Deuso Hayford; aunts, Linda (Kinney) Kneeland and Esta (Kinney) Brayton and uncle, Abbott Brayton, aunt, Rose (Rooney) Kinney; step-father, Larry Larsen; grandparents, Wallace and Viva (Greene) Hayford and Nathan (Jack) and Alice (Rossier) Kinney.
